HIGH-END LIMITED EDITION PRINTS
Blue Matrix – A fine art architecture photography series by Julia Anna Gospodarou. Limited edition prints of abstract views of the iconic Pennzoil Place in Houston, Texas, presented in a fine art manner.
Blue Matrix is a series about the fascination of architecture seen in an abstract way. Departing from the characteristic black and white style of my work this series is an adventure into using color as an element of surprise. The intention is however not to focus on color, which is why the images follow a pattern of duo-chromatic expression, similar to the way black and white photography functions, where black is replaced by blue and all other colors are almost non-existent. This limitation of color brings more attention to the interaction of shapes with light and to the compositional relationships between structural elements.
What we are looking at is a glazed roof of a lobby, but what we see with our mind eye is a dance of forms and shadows creating a network that can be considered the world itself. A network reminding of the Matrix where everything seems real even if we never know if it really is.
