Catharsis VI – Future Memories
(catharsis = purification, renewal, reborn of the soul and spirit through art)
One thing I discovered over the past few months is that I like to work in series. I like to have a subject and follow it over a period of time, trying to understand it and make a story out of it. I like to take moments and put them together in a sequence, try to find the relationships among them, to see their evolution and the way the idea I had in the beginning of the project grows in time.
I was wondering these days why I don’t have any architectural image to share. And the answer was somehow surprising. First (and this I already knew), I don’t have enough time to concentrate as much as I wanted on an architectural subject. An architectural subject needs (in my opinion) much more commitment than a lot of other subjects and a lot more than I can give it at the moment.
Second, it’s that my mind is very busy now with these winter-tree-scapes you keep seeing from me lately. And that for a reason: they are not only images I’m creating, they are also questions I’m trying to answer.
So, what you see over the last period of time (and will probably keep seeing for a while (I have a couple more processed but waiting for the right time to be posted) are answers to questions I have and that I try to transform in images.
Maybe I will also tell you which are the questions at some point…
