“Finalistas Sony World Photography Awards – Julia-Anna-Gospodarou, Greece – Shortlist – Architecture – Professional Competition, 2013
La World Photography Organisation revela hoy las listas de nominados en las categorías profesional, abierta y joven de los Sony World Photography Awards 2013.
En un año en el que se han recibido más de 122.000 inscripciones de 170 países, el mayor número hasta la fecha, el jurado ha seleccionado una lista de fotografías que sobresalen por su gran calidad, originalidad y modernidad. Entre las imágenes seleccionadas, podemos encontrar desde dramáticas escenas del conflicto sirio a fotografías de la campaña presidencial de Obama; desde un estudio íntimo de los espectadores de un cine de Kabul hasta imágenes atípicas y sorprendentes del reino animal.
La lista de nominados reúne la mejor fotografía contemporánea de todo el mundo, y ofrece un repaso del 2012 a través de los ojos de los mejores fotógrafos, tanto conocidos como emergentes. Algunos de estos profesionales, como Javier Arcenillas (España), Robin Hammond (Nueva Zelanda) y Paolo Pellegrin (Italia), ya han participado más veces en los premios. Entre los talentos nuevos más prometedores, destacan fotógrafos como Ed Kashi (Estados Unidos) y Andrea Gjestvang (Noruega).
El jurado honorífico que ha seleccionado a los nominados de la categoría profesional, está presidido por Catherine Chermayeff, directora de proyectos especiales en Magnum Photos.
Astrid Merget, directora creativa de la World Photography Organisation.
El trabajo de los fotógrafos nominados será presentado en la Somerset House de Londres, del 26 de abril al 12 de mayo, como parte de la exposición Sony World Photography Awards 2013. Asimismo, las imágenes serán publicadas en la edición de 2013 del libro Sony World Photography Awards.”
